:) Thanks a lot to all members for being with us in this struggle. We have tasted our first big success this year. Credit goes to each and every IV member. We were all affected by the visa bulletin fiasco and this is our victory. This is a victory for all our members and we must rejoice.
IV had worked very hard and had been pushing for this in the background. Our flower campaign, rally and other advocacy efforts all came together and helped us at a crunch time. We thank members that sent flowers and also walked in the San Jose heat for 4 hours. All that really shows our commitment to this cause.
We are happy that our efforts are successful and IV has been able to make a difference. Please also know that during this effort, IV was extremely active and decision makers heard our voice. We cannot give out all the details but what IV members should know is that these efforts should make each one of us proud and what we can do if we have a firm resolve. Thanks for the replies. I guess, I do not have time to get all that done before I file the I485. Damn, should have taken care of it earlier. I guess I will have to fill the forms just as I have done for the labor and then hope that I am not stuck. Will follow up with my lawyer to get some legal advice too. If I learn anything new, I will sure post.

1. documented / undocumented is a matter of immigration status..... no human can be illegal..... an activity can be illegal which makes a person undocumented...... as defined by human law...... but above human law there is another law..... which is defined by an entity more or less we all believe in..... how can a new born child.... a creation of the creator be illegal? delivery of a child is not just a matter of mother.... its a matter of another life being brought into this world..... how can that child be illegal?

Please do not try to thwart the campaign. We are trying to address a specific issue, which is about blocking approvals when dates are current, and for that, we are using this current fiasco as an example. The USCIS memo specifically talks about EB2 india, china applicants on hold. Since EB3 was listed as U, we cannot do anything about it. If both EB2 and EB3 were current, I would have given a call to both. There is no belittling out here. the Circumstances are like that.
EB2 and EB3 are working together in the visa re-cpature.

Commonsense rule is , if you are allowing 10 H1s to be processed, then why are you processing only 2-3 Greencards. What abot the remaining 7 and why should they wait, even after 8 years???.
Spillover and quotas are all BS.
Lets raise our voice together and see if they follow some discipline.
Anyone more than 8-10 years of being in the US and who followed the rules with merit deserves citizenship. Lets voice together as a campaign and get it straight. Yes, I am in the US for 9 years now..

Most of todays GC process results in indentured servitude which is against the law. Just that the indentured servitude is implicit instead of explicit but its still there. Can we use this point along with these stories.

Even I was wondering same thing- Notice Date or Received Date. USCIS website says Received date is taken into account while looking at service centers processing times.

"IMPORTANT: If your receipt notice date is earlier then the processing date shown, we suggest you call our USCIS Customer Service Office at 1-800-375-5283 for assistance."
Of course, I personally wish that Notice Date takes precedence as it is not our fault that one file just kept on sitting and in saga of moving dates and PD, each day makes a difference.

50,000 unused visas were given to Schedule A in 2005. When the bill was first introduced the unused visas 100,000+ was supposed to go to EB3 since there was retrogression in just EB3 category and Schedule A was part of EB3.
After debate for a few days 50,000 of these were allocated to Schedule A and the EB3 retrogression was forgotten and never been fixed since.
Hope this doesn't happen again.

They should "at least" exempt the students graduating with PhD degree. Also extend the exemption to the Master students graduating from top ranked universities (univ list similar to HSMP). This will bring down some demand for H1B visa numbers for advanced degree.

Potatoes, maybe.
But seriously growing your own vegetables is a fun activity. I have not done groceries in the last few months (exceptions being junk fast food, yoghurt etc). We grow vegetables all year round. In fact we have excess of most vegetables we grow. Try it, its a lot of fun!
And good luck to all EB2 and EB3 folks - we've seen good EB2 movement and we hope we'll see more movements in both EB2 and EB3 in the days to come. Till then, Happy gardening!!

I grow different kind in my backyard. It all depends on the size of your backyard and which zone you live in states. I live in virginia. By this August end /september first week summer crop will end. I grow tomatoes(30 plants), Mint, snake guard, water melons (15 plants), cantaloupes(10 plants), carrots, okra, spinach , chillis. Its fun and hard work too. You need to dig the soil, mix with top soil or garden soil and cultivate it. Every week fertilize it. This is my first year gardening. I have around 3000 square ft of back yard. i do not know what to do with that. I cannot maintain Lawn in back yard. So I decided to grow vegetables.
I am eagerly waiting for my fall garden..I am planning to grow tulips,beets,cilantro,carrots,potato,peas etc., If I can get same space for garden In India and work place just 3 miles from home , I can happily go back to India.

This is also for all and it is not about recapturing the visas alone. It is about justice to anybody whose PD is current. What kind of justice would it be if your PD is current after the visas have been recaptured and you are waiting for 10 years just because your case is not being picked up in the random lottery ?

People should calm down, keep patience, and wait for the agencies' announcements, if any.
